Who wrote this? I’m still undecided but the main thread running through the whole thing is how condescending the core side has been while some simultaneously being very bad at explaining their position in a way people can grok

They don't have a valid argument because the reality is they were paid to make spamming easier and that's the only reason this is happening. They tried to put lipstick on a pig, making it seem like they were solving a super important technical issue, and when node runners didn't buy it they turned hostile to their own user base. I don't think an open source project has ever imploded so spectacularly.
