In broad strokes, I agree.
In Europe, wine culture was sufficiently ingrained through the millenia to fight off the race to zero from this fiat interregnum. Wine in the USA only really entered the world stage at the same time as fiat.
There is way more shit wine in the USA, but there is definitely good wine too.

US wines are almost always too sweet, too bold or too oaky. I couldn't drink anything except some Pinot from Oregon
I just got back from Greece and the wine there good. But nowhere I’ve ever been had wine as good and as cheap as in Argentina. That shit is crack.
You'd love my Pinot then. Next vintage is out soon
