Is a standing desk worth it? I usually walk a bit after sitting for 30 or 60 minutes. I'm not sure if I need a standing desk or not.

It's not about the exercise, it's about posture.
Being able to adjust desk height in relation to different chairs and setups is an added perk
2nd'd, being able to fidget is key
you can do a trial run by stacking things on your desk.. at least, that's what I've done in the past. example, put a chair on the desk, put your laptop on the chair. or find stackable things to get you to the right height. then if you like it, you can buy a standing desk.
hi
100% yes! Your hips and overall posture will thank you, from an old dude, think UNIX sysadmin old..
I just put a storage box on my desk to work standing up. Most of the time I still prefer to sit. 😄
Not unless you consider standing 'intense exercise'.
You have to REALLY want it. I got rid of mine after a month. Maybe one of those motorized ones would be nice.
if you are one of those who sit for this part of the day, perhaps if necessary, I have had days where I have had to solve code problems from 8 am and I only end up solving it sometimes until 12 at night, so in cases like this, one would need a standing desk.
You can hack one together. Either get a modular top or get the motorized legs and add a plywood or nice wood top. (The cheap way). Peace. I’m a fan of having one.
Yeah, I requested one at work and they put in an adjustable one. Perfect for days when you needed to sit.
It’s a must have.
It will change your life.
But definitely need the adjustable.
Life is not static. It’s okay to sit. Bring it down. But you can’t sit all day. Raise it back up.
Standing for long is not healthier than sitting for long, and standing seat is the most messed of all so I don't think it's worth.
Hey @reya! Is there any link for Lume? Have you stopped that project?
