Personally I buy a few cases of French Bordeaux every year En Prem and just live off that, take a case out now and again from ten, twenty years ago and every bottle is special. It’s a nice way to do it

dude thats absolutely the way to go. Find what you like and buy cases, stock up and in a decade you'll never have to drink young wine again. Not a bad way to slip through old age.
Can't afford old wine? make it only yourself.
Personally, having grown up on a Pinot Vineyard, I'm more of a Burgandy guy, but maybe you'll have to convince me why I'm wrong one glass at a time
