Maybe a dumb question, but why?

I have some friends who it's set to 24 hours lol Not because we're doing anything illegal, but because it's sometimes shameful enough that it's best to just not have it sitting around 😂

Wait, I need more context.

The accused were collaborating using SMS. Most had decent security set ups with PINS. However one of the accused didn't so all the exchanges could be read by the police. You might be secure and have a PIN and encryption but if the person you are messaging is a fuckwit, your messages can be read if their phone is physically taken.

If the person you're talking to doesn't secure their device, all your messages with them can be read.

Yeh It hadn't reallyoccured to me before. I'm not doing anything illegal either but I want to continue learning about and using privacy and security best practise.

Also they were being prosecuted for tax fraud by HMRC, something bitcoiners *COULD* find themselves at the receiving end of.
