Building a client worth a fuck still requires considerable effort. Anyone fading that probably hasn't made anything used by a significant number of people. I've made one for myself and it required time, money, and attention (primarily regarding security and bug fixes). Then there's maintenance after it's "finished" (a fleeting concept).
