My wife breaks out in keto rash a few days into strict carnivore diet. Any idea how to treat / manage without breaking ketosis? @WhyCarnivore.com

No issues with her gall bladder. She really wants to eat pure carnivore but each time it has happened to her, she has had to reintroduce carbs. It just keeps us both from going full carnivore for a long period of time, mostly because of convenience. Looking for advice of how we can simplify the diet to increase the duration.

Beef, eggs, raw milk, yogurt. We’ve thought about honey just for her. Or wine for both of us. Really looking to simplify.

Feels good, likes the diet. Just doesn’t want to have permanent scarring from the rash. She’s pushed through it a few days and it only grows and gets darker.
Glucose is the body's preferred source of energy. Fat is the backup energy source. Why purposefully deprived the body from its primary source of energy?
Textbook oxalate-dumping. Here are some resources to learn more - basically her body is flushing out all those plant toxins it's accumulated. A great sign! If the symptoms get too bad, some people temporarily reintroduce small amounts of oxalate-holding plants (berries, dark chocolate, spinach, etc.) during that dumping period to smooth out the detox process.

Wrong: no, nobody needs carbs. They are poisonous to all humans Correct: removing them too quickly can lead to intense oxalate-dumping, as the body detoxes. This doesn't mean they NEED carbs though, just means they need to be removed more gradually for some than others

I would go beef only for a week or 2 and then add each one in at a time to figure out what is giving her issues.
Hit me up if you want bro, just need a few information about your wife, before I can say anything… could be a healing reaction. Went from keto to carnivore ? Have you been testing ketones ? Why is the reasons she went carnivore? And just so many more questions 🤣 happy to answer as much as I can with the right Data….
The "natural process" is for the body to produce glucose from the carbohydrates in the food consumed. The glucose that is not used immediately is stored into the liver and muscles as glycogen. When the body needs the stored glycogen, it is converted back into glucose. Glugoneogenesis happens when the body is depleted from glucose. The liver and kidney produce glucose to supply the organs that can't operate with out it (brain, eye, kidney,...). The liver also produces ketones as a backup energy source for the muscles and other organs. Glugoneogenesis happens when glucose in the body is too low. If glucose availability from diet and storage is sufficient, glugoneogenesis doesn't happened. It not cumulative.
