BLE is insecure and has a limited range of 10 meters. It is not being used on bitchat, as most users prefer geohash-based nostr relays, which may compromise privacy by exposing location data and needs internet lol 🤷‍♂️

It's just another option. Bitchat BLE isnt limited just to 20m. A large protest surpresed by the government where they cut the communications, BLE could be a way to coordinate the protest further because as far as I understand it, everyone ble device with Bitchat can act as a router to the next one creating a mesh.
