Well akshually they could. i.e. the main relays refuse to store notes from your npub. Ofc you can publish to your own relay, but whst are the chances normies are connected to it?

Explain. Assuming you are a persona non grata (the main relays not allowing your notes), would Outbox relays also not censor you? Aren't we just crossing our fingers they won't do that?

That persona non grata would alway find a relay that doesn't block him. If he's a nobody, any random relay would have him. If he's Satan himself, he still will have worshipper that gladly host his notes. There's truly no influencer that would get shunned by all the world.

Yep. Exactly like you could always host your own blog + RSS in the old days - except no kne/very few would find you. Censorship is not about 💯% prevention, but throttling reach (substantially). Reach is the currency of the internet. And the Nostr network is not immune to that at all (albeit less suceptible than fully centralized platforms, obvs)

Not every single, just the big ones - which most users subscribe too. Probaly less than 20. It's not impossible. Ideally ppl would publish to their own respective relays, and clients would find them via DHT-style discovery. But that doesnt scale I guess. Hence the current middle ground (some big relays as central access point for 95% of notes) nostr:nevent1qqsgy7lt33y2kqh09y9z9md025fzauhjhx6xtdxa2mcyv3z4s3yvzespz4mhxue69uhkummnw3ezummcw3ezuer9wchsygpm4xuv7kqg90fhamqcg4djdwcy53l54r5rttqccl4yxjr88mskyvpsgqqqqqqs8qtec0
