And the government pays him to keep them empty, because if he sold the houses it would collapse the price of housing and then everyone would be able to afford a house. So this one guy is getting paid to land bank 30 thousand houses. And he isn't the only one doing it either, there are dozens of rich developers getting paid to keep houses empty.
