Mathematics is the language of the universe. It governs everything from computer science to the rotation and revolution of planets and galaxies. Artificial intelligence, economics, even in politics, you name it, math is a fundamental building block for almost everything. Learn math!

There are a few subjects that I truly believe are invaluable, and it's tragic how often they're painted as being opposed to one another: math, language composition/communication, and history. No matter where you go and what you do, all three will prove useful to be literate in.
Without history, the majority of this world is out of context. I'm passionate about it not only because of its importance but also because I believe it's our fundamental duty as human beings to comprehend our own history & origin.
Precisely. Without history and curiosity, the world is left without context. Without math and logic, it's left without solutions. And, in absence of proper linguistic skills and effective communication, one could have all the knowledge in the world and never be able to use it.
Mathematics is also a fundamental building block for rational thinking, decision making and ability to dynamically adjust one’s belief systems, as decisions like, whether information is truthy and what action to take next, use probability and risk factor calculations
πŸ‘† Fax. But understanding that starts with your foundation in the other three, and so we come full circle πŸ˜„
Imo, those who cheat in class, cheat themselves. Especially in those core/fundamental topics that define humanity and have helped to raise us to where we are.
I truly grasped this point after I began building a chess engine; it blew my mind, realizing that sometimes, one of my most critical and logical decisions is just a simple mathematical equation (with available data). 🀯
Cheating and getting caught stealing, oh my oh my. How to wiggle out of this one without running into them general dynamics when logical reasoning implodes to facts?! Quite certain the cheating is least of the problems to explain. 🫢
Just a detail that might find interesting. The word mathematics comes from the word μάθημα which means lesson. Mathematics was the main lesson, which is what you say essentially, and this is the reason for the word mathematics.
Great note. Tell my kids & nieces/nephews all the time. That and learn to code. We use statistics & probability every waking moment so it’s impossible to say that you’re not good at math. Not walking directly into traffic when crossing the street is using math.
