I'm getting closer to fatherhood with our first child due just past Thanksgiving and what will be a life changing, and beautiful new chapter I've been longing for. With that I'm also thinking and will have to make decisions concerning the future of @The Progressive Bitcoiner. I've ran and led TPB since June 2023 and taken every effort possible to grow our audience, content, and reach. I've been severely limited due to lack of funds and working a full time job. There is soooo much more I want to do through the platform! It is my dream to be able to commit to TPB full time and put out way more content. I've tried to connect with just about every Bitcoin company I can think of. Many have said to me behind the scenes that what we're doing is "incredibly important," expressing moral support, etc. They've even made public professions of wanting to grow Bitcoin content reach to the left. Then when I've proposed ideas, requested support via funding, crickets. Perhaps our "political" label makes companies fearful to sponsor, and many folks weary to even share our content. I've been disappointed with the lack of material support there, as the only bitcoin show focused on progressives and the left. We haven't even scratched the surface of what I'm hoping to do, but we can't do more shows, video content, live streams, etc without a lot more funding. I'm putting in 70+hours per week combined with my full time job and it's not sustainable. I am extremely grateful to @BitBox for being a consistent sponsor this whole time, which has provided critical funding for our infrastructure of recording the show. The entire team is all volunteer based. Our expenses greatly outweigh any support we receive from individual or company sponsors. We aren't able to continue much longer, and I'd like to be able to pay people who work on this show/product. The show goes on, for now, and at least through the election this year. I'm very uncertain about TPB's future and hopeful that I'll be able to connect with more folks who are serious about seeing the mutual benefit in partnership and the huge opportunity that awaits us. If I had money to do this myself, I would. My nonprofit background doesn't exactly support that. We're over a year into, with lots of working put in, and hopefully something catches at the right moment. At the very least I'll probably need a partner or perhaps consistent co-host/very active producer in this endeavor. Keeping this up alone (while luckily I do have a volunteer editor which is a godsend) is incredibly exhausting and many time demoralizing. Thanks to you nostriches who have been kind, supportive and seen the benefit in our work. I will keep you posted as I navigate the path forward.
