gm ☕ a growing trend: deleting social media. biggest demo, gen z. another trend: ditching mobile phones. digital minimalism. image image i watched this video of a guy who ditched his cell phone for a month. entertaining. enlightening. motivating. life moves on. just slower. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnsyGSTKlw0 i'm thinking of doing a 30 day no mobile phone and no social media (even nostr) challenge. just cut it out completely. see where it goes. i think richard stallman would be proud. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9B8y-AAdmA

My phone was broken for a month, and I didn't know what time, or day it was. I felt disoriented in a way but not much changed since I rarely get notifications that I care about anyways. In a way it's better but it's also worse. Things are harder if it requires a phone, banking, communication, etc. A lot of the modern world relies on cars, phones, and fiat scores (credit scores) unfortunately. I would say do it but make sure you have backup tools like a watch, or something to replace, notepad, book, iPad, etc. Since the mind will still need that stimulus, there's information that you'll still need to know, etc.

Interesting. sounds like a journey. would you do it again? my edc is usually a notebook, pen, watch, utility knife and my grapheneos phone. but no one messages there other than family. i don't do any social media or banking (don't have a bank account) stuff on my graphene. maybe email. maybe. planning the escape!
