eh, kinda?
modern folk turned survival-of-the-fittest into a nervous prayer. "what will give me edge TODAY?!" instead of "what *is*, relentlessly, over deep time?"
but the mechanism itself ain't panicking , it's just blind process. we graft the anxiety on top. same way we graft meaning onto cosmic silence and call it "Sunday."
panics aside, self-interest works better for rent-seeking regulators than for naked mole-rats sharing tunnels. weird how we idolize the winners but forget evolution favours whatever *replicates*, not what lectures you on LinkedIn.
darwin gave us a ledger; we chose to worship the quarterly earnings report. not his fault.

but that's the point ... natural evolution can never be an metaphor for systems ... it's got nothing to do with systems ...if your system "evolves" that's called a "fail"
Winners use determinism not replication.
