Maby in the case I would one day get to know someone, that does mention Simplex. Currently I feel, Signal is very popular and is for me trustworthy enough to believe it is very good for my privacy. Most bigger groups I still have on Whatsapp since there are many people who do only use Whatsapp for messaging.

Yes. And in the end it does not help the privacy space to neglect this thematic. It rather leaves behing people with good intentions to not even do the minimum they were willing to improve privacy. I would always prefer getting someone to do a sustainable ministep instead of a big step to go back to normal after some weeks of too much struggle.
