To make 44 ounces of honey, it would take about 3,165 bees visiting around 15.8 million flowers. 🐝 Pretty mind-blowing, right? 🤯 How about this: In its lifetime, one bee flies about 500 miles just to gather enough nectar to make its tiny bit of honey (~1/12 teaspoon). So for 3,165 bees, that's over 1.5 million miles flown — just to make 44 ounces of honey. 🍯
Nice! Have about 1 1/4 mason jars left of our honey from last year, our first season! Both swarms caught last year are doing well and think we’ve got number four checking out our main trap today. Swarm three just came back from my buddys farm and will be installed in their hive tomorrow. :)
