The lead maintainers of any Bitcoin client with meaningful network adoption are a potential single point of failure. That applies to Core just as much as it applies to Knots. Right now, identifying bad actors feels straightforward because some have exposed themselves through their conduct over the past few years. That clarity shouldn’t be assumed to last.
