Hmm they are mp3 though, audio files.
My app does mp3 audio, m4a audio and FLAC audio. It will also upload an album art JPG if one exists. No video capabilities have been added yet. I'm not sure where MP4 would be coming from π€

Some mp3 have album art encoded in the id3 tag, but not all.
Thatβs fine, let me see how I can streamline this. Otherwise it would be unsustainable for us
Can you read the media headers? Id3 for mp3 etc? That will at least tell you what the for is tagged as.
I can, but not in retrospect. I am dealing with about 25k media files, so I need a scalable solution which is yet not there.

I'm not sure how to help as I'm not modifying the users files at all. Virtually all music files contain metadata about the contents though, the app reads it to create the Nostr events.

Fair warning, this content technically is in breach of ToS, since I doubt any of uploaders own the copyrights to it. One DMCA strike from the owner and weβll have to wipe it clean. So far I have no way of legally knowing if people own the copyrights, therefore it is untouched

I have implemented a mirroring feature (yay blossom) so if any one host is forced to remove files they are still accessible. We'll see what happens I guess.

Note a feature I added to try to contain duplicate copies of similar albums. I'm thinking of you π
- uploader now had duplicate detection. If you upload an existing album, you will be given the chance to import the library version instead. It will be mirrored to your blossom media servers (kind 10063) if set.
This is going to be the ultimate test of blossom, copyright holders are worse than free speech suppressors.
