Cincy, Apple doesn't like apps running in the background probably because of battery use. People would load a bunch of apps in the background, their phone would die in an hour, and they would blame Apple, so they are strict about it. Android takes a more open approach, and allows it. Apple should open up more, and at least let the user have the option and inform them of potential battery drain.
