I used to be a landscape purist but I had to change with the times. We arenโt exactly creating content for the silver screen.
๐ป Here's to not having to flip my tv around to get full resolution when I watch the nostr vlog stream on NostrTV for AppleTV.
They will start making movies on Netflix in portrait mode someday. Cause people are too lazy to hold the phone sideways. Itโs hard work.
I recently did a drone video and changed it to vertical because phones.
Why hasnโt someone figured out a way to shoot both at the same time and then let you choose which orientation you want?
Hm it's actually not easy to focus on the important thing. You would cut vertical different and not just the middle of a horizontal video. You could tho.
Yeah itโs probably not doable.
I don't think I would record them in the same way. Years ago I used to hire professional shooters for our ads. They would shoot horizontal first and then shoot vertical again with changes to both the text, the background, lightning and framing. Although you could convert, I think they are not really convertible. Maybe AI can do it.
Yeah, that was my thought. AI would have to be the solution somehow.
Bow down to your god... Verticlese
I think professionals are worried about the video resolution, because in order to keep the subject on both frames youโre restricted to the square intersection in the middle, and then you also need to crop the video so some footage wonโt appear in neither of the outputs.
But still, given 4k cameras and the fact weโre going to compress anyway, I think it would be cool to shoot and playback โratiolessโ videos like the iOS app Carousel.
