๐Ÿป Here's to not having to flip my tv around to get full resolution when I watch the nostr vlog stream on NostrTV for AppleTV.
They will start making movies on Netflix in portrait mode someday. Cause people are too lazy to hold the phone sideways. Itโ€™s hard work.
I don't think I would record them in the same way. Years ago I used to hire professional shooters for our ads. They would shoot horizontal first and then shoot vertical again with changes to both the text, the background, lightning and framing. Although you could convert, I think they are not really convertible. Maybe AI can do it.
I think professionals are worried about the video resolution, because in order to keep the subject on both frames youโ€™re restricted to the square intersection in the middle, and then you also need to crop the video so some footage wonโ€™t appear in neither of the outputs. But still, given 4k cameras and the fact weโ€™re going to compress anyway, I think it would be cool to shoot and playback โ€œratiolessโ€ videos like the iOS app Carousel. image
