⚡️📺 TECH - An LG G6 OLED owner opened up his new TV and pulled out the Wi-Fi, microphone and Bluetooth hardware. His message to LG: "You don't own the glass on this one." It follows a Gamers Nexus investigation that found LG TVs mapping devices on home networks. LG says the scanning is standard and denies recording conversations.

This works because OLED panels don't need the smart TV board to display an image—strip the SoC/wifi module and it's just a dumb display fed by HDMI. Try that with a modern "smart" fridge or car infotainment system where the connectivity is load-bearing for basic function, and you can't opt out without bricking the appliance. TVs are the easy case; the harder fight is hardware that's designed so surveillance and functionality are inseparable.
» View quoted note → View quoted note →
And the strange coincidence is many vehicles from Europe 2019/2020 will brick if you attempt to remove the sim fuse computer controlling these systems.
