⚡️🇷🇺🇦🇪 NEW - Russian cryptocurrency fraudster and his wife found dismembered and buried in the desert in Dubai
Roman Novak and his wife Anna were reported missing by their relatives in early October, after several days without any news from them.
According to TheMirror, the couple were allegedly kidnapped in the United Arab Emirates by suspects who demanded a ransom for their release.
The suspects then allegedly killed them after their relatives failed to obtain the requested sum.
According to sources, the couple's cell phones were detected for several days after their disappearance in Hatta and Oman, then in Cape Town, South Africa, before the signal disappeared completely on October 4.
Novak had already been convicted of fraud in 2020 and sentenced to six years in prison.
Some Russian media outlets have suggested that one or more of the Russian investors defrauded by Novak may have been involved in the murder, although this has not been confirmed by investigators.
According to Russian authorities, seven people were arrested in Stavropol and Saint Petersburg, three of whom are suspected of murder and the other four of money laundering.
The main suspects are believed to be from Russia and Kazakhstan.
