#BuyItForLife aka #BIFL is a fantastic concept for anyone who values their time, life energy, and #SoundMoney
Treating most things as disposable is a very #Fiat mentally
What are a few of your favorite pieces of gear that are built to last a lifetime?
A few of mine that I’ve used essentially everyday for over a decade:
A GoRuck backpack
A leather belt and leather wallet from Hanks Belts

our cast iron, carbon steel and stainless steel pan sets that we got recently we are aiming to use for a long time. no more Teflon pans ever again.
Great one! Way better for you and can last multiple lifetimes when cared for
Glass food storage sets. Leather shoes (Allen Edmonds). Solid wood furniture.
Great answer!
I have an OXO glass dish that I use 3-4 times a week in a hotlogic cooker and another glass container set I use for everything else. So much better than plastic crap!
Great call on the shoes! Anything that can be resoled is a great candidate. I don’t own any AE but I have some leather shoes Thursday Boots that I love and think will last me a very long time.
I love the solid wood furniture suggestion! A thick, quality kitchen table is a fantastic heirloom piece
I’ve also used these things over a decade including the cast irons and all… I will have to take a look at those goruck backpacks!
I think #BIFL tools are the way to go. Truck brands are overpriced but gearwrench, knipex, astro, and Capri have all served me well and are way nicer to use than typical brands. An obvious example is cheapo needlenose will pinch your finger in the hinge if they slip off and snap closed, my knipex have a gap so you don't get pinched.
Awesome!
