Yep, but that's nothing new, at least in Germany. Exchanges have been sending data on request to the authorities for years!

Yes, it is new... because until now it was only exchanges based in Europe... now it's all of them worldwide...
For example, Binance had offices in Europe, so it was obliged to comply, while Bitfinex did not have offices in Europe, so it was not obliged to comply and did not do so.
Now, in January 2026, Bitfinex must comply or it will not be able to offer services to Europeans.
