Can some please help me understand why I cannot “disconnect” from Zbd? My nostr has been hostile taken over by Zbd…and I made the mistake of associating my nsec. I was able to correct this issue before, but this time I cannot.. #Help #Nostr #AskNostr If I need to just start fresh with a new nsec…so be it, but damn…

So, I think I figured it out, but had to load an older version of Damus… @jb55 when the new upload came through, my nostr reverted to my Zbd… I couldn’t correct anything on Damus, but, loaded an older version, signed out of both and signed back into Damus, profile is back with no link to Zbd… Going to test loading the newest push to see if it does anything to the profile…

Thanks. Have to google it. Only client I use is Damus. Only one I know for iPhone. Guess I will need to be careful with zbd
It’s definitely not…I don’t want my profile changed to their social site… kinda pissed, kinda feel like the dumbass, but mostly feel like others really need to understand what happens when they do what I have done. I’m on an older version of Damus, it reverted to that profile, but I have not tested the new version now that my profile shows the correct info again…
I wonder what’s the easiest way for everyone to find you once you start fresh Maybe tagging your new npub on your old profile ?

So I guess the rule is, be very careful who you give your nsec to. Only other place I have used mine is iris.to on a pc. Good luck. Hope you become free of zbd.
Probably related to the Damus TestFlight bug where profile updates aren’t showing up, but as far as your nsec goes, you should just burn it and start a new one since you signed up for ZBD with it.

Take the medicine and start a new one 😔 never put your nsec into a client that isnt open source and its evident they only store your nsec locally on your device.
