Bitcoin confs - particularly the smaller ones - have a shared ethos of belief system
I donβt wanna call it a religion or a cult because it categorically is not. But there is something there that goes far beyond the tech

Strong morals vs grifters trying to climb over the others to get to the life raft.
Bitcoiners in my experience benefit, then dedicate more time to the orange system and help others. It's amazing to see how philanthropic bitcoiners are!

I think I prefer smaller ones
I feel one aspect of this is the universal need to narrow down parameters, otherwise it is difficult to get people on the same page. However, personally, I feel like I am "crypto-homeless", as whereas "crypto" spaces lack focus, Bitcoin spaces are too tightly demarcated to allow for new developments in the bona fide financial freedom tech stack.
