i pay about that much for protonmail but considering all the security measures they implement, they don't even have the ability to read my emails content wherever the sender also supports pgp, as proton automatically uses this if possible, and signs all cleartext messages as well for authenticity protection. i don't consider personal, privacy protected messaging to be anything to do with WEF "you vill own nutting and be happy" subscription based everything. it's actually a valid service. and the same goes for privacy protecting, paid nostr relays.
anyway, not like it matters. if you don't pay for internet services, you are the product being sold to private information traders. it's not the same as subscribing to your house, car, computer, phone, the right to access YOUR money in a custodian's possesion, and other items that you physically possess, AT ALL. nobody gives things away for free without a hostile agenda. this is entirely separate from denying you the right of ownership of property.
