sick and tired of the uniform, vacuous, distasteful, unoriginal prose all over the place. like Anor Londo it appears grandiose, beautiful and polished but it's a lie, a dead and hollow façade.
language evolves through people using it and interacting with each other. new words are invented, old rules are changed or subverted, we amplify our conceptual repertoire and update our model of the world by speaking and writing. the word virus affects how we perceive reality and shapes it to some extent.
now an LLM writes your poasts, which is fucking obvious and lame. an LLM writes the software and the documentation, which is now unbearable to read for a human. people communicate via LLM produced text, they generate slop and others use their LLMs to transform that slop into something inteligible (a slop they are comfortable reading).
if language is sterile, human creativity and thinking can stall and degrade. the highly improbable and ground breaking thinking barely gets explored.
fuck this dystopia, i prefer an imperfect and genuine human "voice" over a perfect and hollow LLM garrulous slop. we must not delegate our writing and thinking to a cold, alien, probabilistic engine. writing IS thinking.

A friend of mine teaches at a low socioeconomic status primary school.
I would find AI slop a blessing if I had to interact with those kids...

make typo great again
pretty sad that being eloquent and articulate nowadays casts a shadow of suspicion on you and are accused of using LLMs. fucking leeches.
Myeah it’s a sign of the times everybody be grifting and leaching 😔
Language evolve with style, the universe keep what matters. The things that help bring more conscioussness. It's true for language as well, I don't think anyone will adopt AI slop in their language for the same reason everybody immediately recognise an AI generated website, it's boring. And to reuse a trending term this past few days, it lacks entropy, it's just all the same and humans like things that are original.
An LLM will have to constantly catch up, to grab some of that beautiful human entropy, the moment it does, that language will belong to history.
Language evolves and humans had strong locality what gave us many languages. I saw that for very long as a curse – people that don't understand each other are more likely to fight each other. And I'm still convinced there would be less war if we all spoke a common tongue.
LLMs are limited to a tiny fraction of languages still, so they will drive out of existence smaller languages but they will also help if not preserve then at least conserve those.
Writing and talking is thinking! But reading what you wrote to polish it is also thinking. If you got derailed by my m-dash above, let me assure you this text was not authored by an LLM (unless of course we have LLMs in our heads). It was merely assisted by a spell checker ;)
For public posts I always polished a bit and read my posts at least once before hitting send. Maybe that's off-putting to more and more people in the age of LLMs? I hope not because if your post wasn't worth to be read by yourself, why should I read it? If a post is riddled by typos, I don't read it.
tldr: If the machine can help you express your ideas better, what's wrong about that?
We are the TRNG. Extremely beautiful. Far from streamlined like a uniform workforce ready to kill on demand.
we were already living with journalists before
The effects of deifying technology.
You had so many chancez.
Se pierde la esencia cuando desaparecen los "me cago en la puta" o "la puta madre que lo parió"...
Somos la resistencia.
nothing wrong, just don't let the machine do everything or you are a mere meat proxy.
strongly disagree with the common tongue, and I certainly hope it's not English. we can understand each other while speaking our own languages now and that's good. when i'm using English i cannot express myself the same way i would in Spanish, my native language.
also, languages are not just communication technology but a way to look at and understand the world. Basque, Spanish and English have shaped my perception of the world in different ways and i think i'm cognitively more flexible thanks to knowing all three.
i might use an llm pass when writing long form stuff or more formal texts but for poasts like these i just rawdog and hit send.
"hijo de puta!", hay que decirlo más! :wisp_lol:
Bludda the human touch will never die. More than anything it’s of paramount importance to actually support culture and artists, and by that I don’t mean paying at the cinema to see a blockbuster movie like The Odyssey, but to go and donate to local cultural movements, ngo’s, individual artists, galleries, foundations etc
You can follow me, I write real human slop, complete with stupid spelling mistakes.
I'm also to old to be bothered with LLM's.
Bleep bleep.

Yes, language shapes perception but it's first and foremost a human to human interface and network effects favor the most universal such interface. Learning multiple languages is a luxury we hopefully could afford even after converging on a common tongue.
hijo de puta más!
Cuándo esa cerveza verbi? 🍻
Absolutely true.
