Michael Saylor is dead right about the lack of need to make changes to the protocol
the amount of traffic on chain being shifted to layer 2s is keeping way ahead of the increase in userbase for the orange coin, and will continue to do so because those who are engaged in building out the solutions are making money along the way to achieve this, and Michael himself is funding some small part of this work, as are Odell and others... i had a tense exchange with Odell almost a year ago when he was saying "nostr only" and here he is talking about his ongoing X activity, the guy is well meaning and doing good work but this is patently retarded and makes him look bad

the benefits of CATV for reducing the onchain size of data is equivocal because it also increases the chance of locking, btw, let's not mince words
the reason why the promoters are trying to push this is because they have business models they want to implement but these business models are not necessarily all good and have potential avenues for abuse as well, so making the change while people are rushing to get on the train is not going to help the adoption process either, contrary to what they think
they are simply demonstrating that self interest drives activity on bitcoin, both on chain and development, and that this process of competition is ugly and shitty sometimes and sometimes it seems like nobody wants changes because of incumbency and FMA but that's literally how it is guy
