Jesús said: I am the truth in John 14:6. If Jesus is not the truth, then his statement is false, a he is not trustworthy. If Jesus’ statement is false, then it cannot be believed. If Jesus’ statement is true, then it must be believed, and he is the absolute truth. Therefore, Jesus’ statement is logically consistent and cannot be refuted by human logic. No sales pitches, just a genuine search for the truth 🙏

It's almost like the truth will set you free. Also, if you don't seek truth and get bogged down in lies, you're eventually going to collapse like an AI model training on too much AI output. nostr:nevent1qvzqqqqqqypzqxh7p36w84mcf6af8f0rlf255mhtqxfg6ynnnt5t5jpj0p5q3cmdqqszvhch5fftq9s3ylywmwshxx7mskch773k9cy6turmcdcxxn7ud8gsytg4r

The dudes that wrote that said Jesus said those things. You are trusting their version of that truth. That truth was then translated into various languages. 2000 plus years of the telephone game. That’s the whole deal. Not to mention the whole story is a rehash if the same story from the old “boss”.

There is a great little book by Derek Sivers called Useful Not True. To counter balance that idea in his book it’s worth exploring the opposite idea of True but Useless. I think an interesting discussion can be had around examining your statement, particularly if it is true or not. 🙂

The New Testament is preserved in ~5,800 Greek manuscripts, plus ~20,000 early translations and quotations. No other ancient work comes close… The Bible wins by a landslide in quantity, earliness, and closeness to the originals… It's worth looking into in case you want to catch up on it.

Not going to lie, but I really struggle with the ambiguity of these kinds of “wisdom statements.” Not only for the vagueness of words like “rest” and “will” and “truth,” but also because a case can be made for the opposite. There is an interesting little book by Derek Sivers called Useful Not True that explores the usefulness of things that are NOT true. I understand the sentiment behind the attempt being made to encourage people to “seek truth,” but the reality is that it’s not the only way to get through life and it is not always the most useful thing to do. nostr:nevent1qqszvhch5fftq9s3ylywmwshxx7mskch773k9cy6turmcdcxxn7ud8gpzemhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuurjd9kkzmpwdejhgft894u
