Back from Nashville, and after a little reflection, I need to reiterate a message I frequently put out there: kill your heroes. Most of the people talking about the moon, laser eyes, power law, get on zero, digital energy, strategic national reserve, etc. etc., or who are telling you to buy this device or use that service are **buying and selling your attention to make themselves richer** -- they generally do not have your best interests at heart. Think for yourself and don't fall for marketing. Educate yourself about bitcoin, discuss it with people you respect, think critically about the risks, and then, if it makes sense to you, make a sensible investment in it with reasonable expectations, while keeping your larger financial situation and your personal priorities in perspective. I am a believer in bitcoin in spite of, not because of, all of the wild assertions, influencers and aggressive social marketing out there, and it has taken me 11 years to get to where I am. Be careful our there anon, don't buy the hype.

This is what I think: View quoted note → The feds next move is all that really matters. The rest is noise. If you’re looking at any timeframe longer than the next few months just ignore the bullshit people are saying and watch the fed.

Agreed, wasn’t there, but your reflection is always the case, “friends” trying to make money off hopes and promises, focus is key, and while it’s great to build a community, many are out there to exploit it for their own gain, thinking for yourself is key, even in great communities where we are all working together for a common goal.

Would you be willing to post some educational resources - links/books/articles/etc. - you think can provide what you're describing here?

Very good advice. Currently I’m reading as much as I can about the space. I love the peer to peer system especially to be able to send sats instantly to friends in countries where they suffer from hyperinflation such as Venezuela
I noticed a lot of snake oil salesmen at the conference this year. We gotta be careful out there, and continue spreading messages to ensure others don’t fall victim to these traps
I wish the conference could curate exhibitors a little better, but I understand they also have a business to run and people are paying for those spaces. It’s a challenge. I would honestly also like to see a more diverse mix of people on the main stage, instead of the same parade of influencers that we see up there every go around.
