The latest @npub14kw5...j7y0 with Indiehub builder @Zack has made us reflect on how Hollywood got enshittified when they got full into the fiat model with the arrival of the streaming platforms. The streamers swallowing the business made it a game of quantity, in a kind of VC mentality, that one big hit can compensate for all the rest of the garbage. They have gotten themselves into a situation where their subscribers EXPECT a certain NUMBER of new series and films to appear EVERY WEEK. The IP #enshittification is forcing filmmakers away from the RISK OF ORIGINALITY. They are not willing to spend the big bucks on the unknown, only on stories and talent that already have big followings. True and sad. Sometimes I'm wondering if I'm getting an old jerk that hate most new art production or if it's really that 99% of new movies/series/music/video games are complete garbage or at best re-re-reheated leveled down versions of previous masterpiece.
