Interesting way to think about #bitcoin PoW on a global per capita basis: The Bitcoin network currently has about 1 Zettahash/second and there are 8.23 billion people on earth. That's 125 gigahash/second per person. That's well below even the simplest of home miners. If you run a Bitaxe Gamma (500 GH/s) you're covering the hashpower for 4 people and if you have a Bitaxe Gamma (1.2TH/s) you're providing 10 people's worth of hash power.

Interesting but rerun the numbers based on hodler's since only those with skin in the game have incentives to mine. Or, my preferred way is hash per bitcoin. How much hash rate secures each individual coin? If you have that you can figure out if you are hashing your share to secure your stack. So simple numbers a flat whole coiner should be hashing 1/21,000,000*current global hash rate.
