What's going to be the first big tech company to sell a small plug n play appliance that is a #bitcoin node, miner, router, home server, #nostr relay?
Or are the companies making those things going to become new main stream tech companies?
Or will that never happen?

Don’t see this happening anytime soon
Anytime soon? But eventually? Never. 100 years?
I’ve been thinking about this for years.
Exercise bikes, treadmills, ceiling fans, in my mind it was #hasheverything
Would love to find some electrical engineers who are into the idea.
I agree. Its gotta happen.
I believe there was a gym that had work out equipment that put power into the building but people just don't produce that much and the cost to manufacture and maintain equipment is to much. I think it went out of business.
Spring 2031

That makes sense. Why must we be so weak!?
I got useful things I can put my bodily energy into right now so that's what I'm trying to do. Id also rather but energy intooney so I can buy solar panels and capture that passive income.
Pretty sure @Erik Cason 's vora is working on something kinda like this. I remember him talking about some sort of home appliance on what bitcoin did.
Awesome. Followed.
My guess is big tech has no interest in creating such a device, but I could be wrong
The ceiling fan doesn't make sense, but the others are doable. It just won't amount to much, if its just from human input.
there's already #miners that are #heating #appliances.
#start9 is helping #mainstream running a #server.
#bitaxes are mainstream #mining.
were early for #btc & early with the #tech too. exciting times.
Consistency over time. Hash everything.
The trend is to have dedicated devices. The first bitcoin implementations were both nodes and miners. Eventually, these tasks became specialized and separated into unique implementations.
There are a few, like Start9 and Futurebit that combine some of those. Still like others have mentioned, dedicated devices that can be upgraded as needs change are generally more cost effective than a single box that does everything that will become obsolete when one of those needs change or improvements are made.
Most feasible way I can think to make this happen is a modular system, where they are housed together, you pick which of those systems you want and combine them all into one box, but it's still dedicated devices that can be upgraded individually.
