My son finally finished the mini bike he started over the winter. It's a razor mini bike he converted to have a 49cc 2 stroke engine on it. Yes, I helped, but not as much as you probably think. He did all the welding and frame modifications I helped with the exhaust and when he got stuck a few times, but he did almost all of it. He finished putting rear disc brakes yesterday so its finally done! image

He learned a lot! Totally worth it. He spent his own money on the whole project too. He's pumped it's ready to show his friends 🔥
So were my sons compared to me at 12. We homeschool/unschool (whatever you want to call it) them. I think that has something to do with it.
He doesn't have a phone and only plays video games for an hour a day on an old shitty laptop and he's happy 🙂
Have you got a metal spool/starter cog inside the pull start the plastic ones can snap or wear So if your in a feild or far from home it's a problem if they break where as the metal ones keep on ticking and take a licking I think they will probably be about 20 ish quid now a days I had them on most of my mini bikes aside from a few for parts about 10 years ago so they prob have gone up from 8/14 quid though i could be wrong They may still be cheap
That's interesting and good to hear. Our 16 year old son and 13 year old daughter play video games. Too many from my perspective. But they are happy. So I don't say too much.
