Had used Blue Wallet for multiple "kid's" lightning wallets. But it's not supported anymore. What is an easy way to manage their "household" wallets?
Ok, firstly - way to go dad!! So, how do you do this "daily"? I have two Bitaxes with combined hashrate of 2.6THs, I have them solo mining and hoping for the BIG payout. Is there a way to have them mine a small number of sats every day instead? #asknostr
Yep the Bitaxe is configured to solo mine by default. If you want a steady trickle of a few sats (and I mean a trickle - this is not a money maker) you need to point it to eg. Braiins or another mining pool. Plenty of resources out there on how to configure.
Fantastic. I never thought the trickle config was even an option, so this is new to me -I'll go hunt down the details. I can guarantee I'll hit more sats than I have blocks, so something is better than nothing - and it's really just to show my kids how it works. Thanks!
Beautiful moment.... Education on Bitcoin , an important part of their lives them growing up.. 🧑🧑 image

phoenix wallet works great for kids, and i’ve seen parents use it with ln.pixel.xx.kg to let them paint pixels for sats, makes earning feel like play.
I got both Bitaxe pointed to #Braiins and my lightning wallet configured pretty easy. Looks like 30-80 sats per day potentially! Not life changing but it will fund zaps!
For this example I pointed my hash at Braiins Pool and linked my daughter's lightning address for daily payouts. There's various ways to do it, but for starters it was pretty convenient. This should show you an example of how to set it up. If it doesn't start at the right part, scrub ahead to 21:33
As it pertains to mining payouts like this: Simplest - custodial options like Wallet of Satoshi or CoinOS (email logins) Easy self custody - Phoenix (12 word seed, requires lightning channels), Wallet of Satoshi self custody mode (12 word seed, no channels needed, some trust tradeoffs on the backend) Extra steps but badass/self sovereign - Alby Hub on your own node, create family sub-wallets and use Alby Go on mobile to connect them
Thanks for getting back to me. This was perfect, I've done the same thing and my daughter is not getting 91 sats a day trickling into her wallet. I got stuck initially thinking I had to flash my Bitaxe with BraiinsOS and was trying to figure it out - but it was as easy as updating the pool info in AxeOS. Much appreciated my friend.
@BTC Sessions do you have any inside knowledge at to when Futurebit will have new Apollo II dual node miner back in stock? There was only one week or so in the past 10 months where they had inventory and I missed the window
