I'm still in the process of learning about bitcoin and I'm curious about its offline capabilities. Is it possible to send or receive bitcoin without an internet connection, and if so, how does it work? I'd appreciate it if you could shed some light on this for me. #asknostr image

To pay someone offline, the sender simply shares a cashu token data (e.g., via QR code, or Bluetooth). The receiver validates the token’s signature against the mint’s public key. No network connection is needed. check #cashu documentation from nostr:npub12rv5lskctqxxs2c8rf2zlzc7xx3qpvzs3w4etgemauy9thegr43sf485vg

Yep. One person needs to be or needs to have been online: sender offline: - offline sender just sends token - online receiver swaps - done receiver offline: - online sender locks token to offline receivers pubkey - offline receivers validates lock and mint signatures - done
