On the Damus front: going through a huge performance refactor atm, but things I’m eyeing right after that: - better onboarding - longform notes - push notifications - lists - relay identity and relay sets About half my time spent is working on a new multiplatform tweetdeck-style nostr client. I started working on a piece of it called shatter, which is a fast nostr content parser in rust:
Nice. Onboarding sounds interesting. The tech-savvy board with ease, it’s the 35+ crowd I worry for. Push notifications have been sparse. I like the feature, though. One of my favorites. Relay identity is important. I’m more inclined to pay if I know who I’m paying.
gossip is ok, I’m using the same ui framework. but not sure if there is much code I can use from it.
😂😂 #[4] wrote a good blog post about it on his site (I’m AFK) and I added some more thoughts on purplepag.es/what Solves relay discovery
I don’t think you need computers to do this, humans can gossip relays if they think they are worth joining.
The idea is that if you follow a certain number of npubs you can find on what relays they claim/tend to write on and connect specifically to those The goal is to not depend on bug relays but be able to easily find personal relays of people you care about.

I would find it helpful to have an algorithmically generated relay suggestion list based on followed profiles though, instead of manually looking them up on individual profile pages. I mainly visit profile pages to check out timeline content, and forget to look at the relay section.

Ah, I thought you only meant the profile page relay lists at first, sounds excellent, looking forward to this getting release ready. I still think, as more people might start running relays, relay selection dependent feeds could become much more interesting.

Good lord it worked - would be good as an in app option though, for app-app differences, but I’ll admit I’m being picky!
I absolutely cannot wait for this Tweetdeck style client. It's going to be incredibly powerful for power users like myself. I'm hoping we can also view and edit long form NIP-23 content and NIP-172 moderated communities too. We'll be able to have a column for all of it. That's exciting to me.
