Bitcoin has real world purchasing power and you can’t arbitrarily decide it has more or less. I don’t know what else to tell people like you 🤷‍♂️

Because I have low time preference. How an exchange values it today is 100% irrelevant to me.

If water sells for a $1 a gallon but I can see that we are headed for a drought, I decide that water is worth way more. Even if others can't see where we are headed.

It's a "no shit, Sherlock" moment. 🤷 And it's more complicated than not enough Sats. Non-Bitcoin topics are close to flatlined, people give likes instead of reposts but prefer to zap bullshit AI "fuck fiat + golden coin", and so on. We cry that we're poor while dropping cigarette butts on the floor. You either do something out of passion, or you go "all in Bitcoin" for the zaps. We might be early, but this was true for the dinosaurs, too.

People have been trained to interact with social media for "free". And free social media typically means the user is the product. They have also been taught to hodl. I remember delivering newspapers to customers, and they paid for the product. If nostr is worth $25/yr to users, that investment would allow them to zap 21 sats 5x/day for an entire year. micro-payments is a great way to go if people would participate... but "free" is so enticing.

Does your show provide enough value to warrant larger zaps? In other words: Are you putting out high enough quality content that's worthy of receiving any value in return? Maybe you are, maybe you aren't. 🤷‍♂️ It is normal in the v4v space to go through ups and downs. The cold reality is that less than 4% ever return value. Example:

I don't zap often over 50c of sats. But I zap as often as I nostr. Where also using a platform, that when creators get 1c zaps from a million followers, they will be happy (unless they are stupid)

I'm only responding based on this clip but i think there is just little value in earning money on social media in a traditional way. People are so used to paying no money on the big platforms that over here it's only (fractions of) a cent because it is just worth that much. Let's project this on a real world example of how i see social media. If i go meet with some friends and they tell me what they have been up to and share a funny story or 2 i also do not go around giving everybody money for it at the end of the night. To me this is what all this mostly reflects or should reflect. I'm happy to send a cent or more if i had a giggle and i do not really know you as a form of appreciation and acknowledgement, but I'm not gonna go around and zap several dollars for almost anything except appds that i use our podcasts i might listen to. I might zap 500 sats or maybe 1000 on a long form article here or there which is in my opinion a pretty good amount if i compare it to a newspaper which has almost exclusively long form content and costs only a few dollars. And then there is still the simple fact that your reach here is super tiny. Tens of people might see your post. If you have many followers maybe hundreds. How many people walk by all kiosks and don't buy a specific newspaper or magazine being sold there? Probably millions. To me it's a simple combination of scale and type of content and i think most people are more generous on here specifically because the zap standard is so low. I don't think anybody would ever get zapped if we had a minimum requirement of 1000 sats.

I'm doing my best out here to increase the daily zaps.

Most on nostr likely don't have an inflow of sats, so parting with what few sats they have stacked isn't an option for them. The no-kyc rails do they even exist any more? From my prospective they don't. The bulk of offers on P2P exchanges are using stablecoins. I think we are witnessing the capture of Bitcoin by those wanting to control the payment rails. With this in place what is the differences between Bitcoin and Fiat.
