I do have wireguard installed on my router to get at my nas without doing a port forward to allow the NAS manufacturer access.
But I vaguely think wireguard is becoming more common even on consumer routers.

well, it's in kernel 5, i think, so basically everything you can configure that has this you can use it. for everything else, there is a client/server that talks the protocol.
Sorry, I am confused and not very good at this social stuff. Which one do you want me to say again, Wireguard, NAS, or NIC? Once you make up your mind I'll come back and say it for you. But since you seem unsure maybe it is some other term you were thinking of possibly
