Well yes, but Russia isn't handicapping their economy with all the Net Zero / Climate Change Crap. Or building up endless rules and regulations which are strangling the whole continent. He might be smug about how strong the EU is, but paper tigers burn very brightly.
Yes, the EU’s economy dwarfs Russia’s, but economic weight only matters if it translates into unified policy, defense spending, and industrial capacity. Fragmentation is the real vulnerability, not GDP.

Next to that... GDP is a made up number anyway. EU counts givernment spending on roads for example as GDP growth... think about that for a while... that is lend money, or taxed money... how does spending that increase GDP?
