That’s why Iranians chose gold. Peter is a living example of human stupidity; by spouting this nonsense, all he’s doing is hurting his professional career. I used to respect him myself because I knew him even before I knew about Bitcoin—he was one of the few who warned about the 2008 crisis. Over time, I’ve realized he just got lucky and is an idiot and a fool because, even though he’s a guy with way more information than I have, he missed out on Bitcoin.

I think it’s pretty clear that he’s an engagement farmer. I’d bet real money that he’s got a not insignificant bitcoin position. I know it’s obvious to say, but I’ve had coffee, and this is the biggest problem with the social media era. People need engagement and engagement is proportional to the amount of noise they can generate. Claude Shannon is crying in his grave.

You also have to worry about bombs, drones, and submarines sinking your ship. Transporting gold requires defending against pirates and stuff.

I don't see ships stoping to cut some gold to pay the toll. They will use the yuan cbdc network or just get some drones in exchanges. They are just another state, they need control
