Maybe a tokenized PoW system could help with the spam

how does it work and why did it split the network?
That sucks. Cause like early days of nostr, global was best bit. Last night, I was researching identifying spam patterns. If I find something useful, will share.

The (bitchat) fork that will never support Lightning
I'm almost certainly not the first person to suggest this but could you use the ecash "stamp" model of @Keychat for geohash messages ONLY? Like imagine this: -user downloads Bitchat -onboarding is free -friend next to them sends some ecash via BLE straight to built in wallet -now user can branch out to geohashes Is this retarded?

Sometimes you need a fork. Whatever it takes.

A stamp can cost as little as 0.1 sat, or even 0.01 sat.
It's not retarded if you're a young individual thinking of ideas. But it doesn't work because there aren't enough sats to go around. Bitcoin doesn't subdivide small enough. There are already people on earth who can't afford to spend 1 sat to send any number of messages on the internet. Possibly a mistake by Satoshi, possibly just him not wanting it to be used this way, not sure
