Comparing the only external investors who hold 10% of a company to average stock investors is a stretch. My friends who own Amazon and Tesla don't have regular sit downs with Bezos and Musk.
An org chooses a risk posture based on level of vetting. Strict requirements, less (arguably short term) upside less risk, loose requirements, the inverse. Bitcoin technology, and specifically cold storage solutions, should lean low time preference: rejecting long term risk
