Modern Cashu wallets can restore everything deterministically from a 12-word seed phrase. The standing advice is still to keep only small, spendable amounts in ecash.

My only experience with Cashu was exactly this. Tried to buy something with lightning and it converted to cashu tokens and were lost. Never used the merchant again Fuck cashu
