I don’t understand why this is better than CLINK, it seems more complicated/more prone to failure. I think a huge pitfall of LN is just how many different ways for a normal user to send a payment are (and how many of them are statistically broken and introduce new forms of failure).

Are there enough Bolt12 wallets to do that?

BOLT12 zaps would fix the reuse problem with static invoices, but wallet support is still thin. Phoenix and CLN are ahead of the pack. until more wallets catch up, BOLT11 zaps aren't going anywhere.
