@Gigi has always been a bellwether for the Nostr, I don't think ive ever seen his mask slip like this (figuratively speaking) Not a criticism, just shows that eventually something gets under your skin enough for you to break character After all the years of work put into lightning to get it to where it is today, with all of it's privacy benefits, only for some of us to start linking our online identities with transactions on the Timechain I can see why that would be frustrating and for the others involved to dismiss his concerns makes it even more baffling to the point of insanity The whole right to privacy debate that is raging in different parts of the internet at the moment must view these onchain zaps as a slap in the face of online anonymity and everything they are trying to protect

I love watching #Nostr evolve @Alex Gleason It's so organic watching everyone disagree on different stuff The Ditto signer looks very cool, but I’m currently stuck on Firefox, are there any plans to add support for it soon? I also watched the @paul keating video I have to admit, the onchain funds integration in the extension was pretty impressive Ultimately, whatever our individual takes are, the beauty of Nostr is that it’s open for us to build anything we want Experimentation is good and while I agree @Gigi is right to be cautious ⚠️ on reflection I believe the pursuit of experimentation is more important than following established rules That spirit of breaking things to see what works is where the real breakthroughs will come from The important thing to remember is that nobody is stopping Nostriches from using Lightning if they so wish

Lightning can be as private or public as you want it to be Onchain is public full stop
