My book project was Highly Commended in the Macmillan Illustration Prize 2026. This project did so much for me and my development, it was the first time my visual language came together in a process I enjoyed and could replicate. This book thought me how to create consistent characters and colour palette, how to work with pacing and page turns and so much more. And it wasn’t commissioned by a client or a school brief, there was no tutor, just me at my desk testing a new process again and again. And some very kind illustration friends who offered feedback and encouragement.
