Just played around with @Umbrel ☂️ and @Tailscale. Took less than 5 minutes to build a free personal VPN service you can use while traveling and route all of your internet traffic via your home network. The public documentation is rather verbose and inclusive. So if you already have Tailscale working to access your Umbrel remotely all you need to do is: 1. Open an Umbrel terminal for app Tailscale and enter: tailscale set --advertise-exit-node --exit-node-allow-lan-access 2. Connect to login.tailscale.com from your personal device and “edit route setting” for your Umbrel, enable “use as exit node” and save. That’s it! Next time you connect your Tailscale client from anywhere in the world, you will be able to select your Umbrel as your exit node and access the internet just as if you were sitting on your home network.
