My I am I cherish every day, every minute I get to spend with you— because somehow, you make even the ordinary feel worth remembering. We laugh our way through the shit of the day, find something to smile about when everything goes sideways, and when one of us begins to fall, the other reaches out and lifts them back up. Maybe that's what I love most— the way we lift each other without ever having to ask. You are my muse, the quiet inspiration behind thoughts I didn't know I had, the spark that turns an ordinary moment into something worth putting into words. You inspire me. You challenge me. You make me want to be better. And somehow, you know me without really knowing me. You see the parts of me I don't always know how to explain. You make me comfortable without asking me to be anything other than who I am. With you, I feel safe. I feel seen. I feel understood. And you make me feel like a man— not because you complete me, but because beside you I remember the man I want to be. I adore you. I appreciate you. I admire you. More than I probably know how to say. Sometimes I wonder if there are people we meet who feel strangely familiar— as though some part of us recognized them before we ever had the chance to understand why. Maybe you're one of those people. My other half. My spirit animal. My kindred soul. My soulmate. The one who makes me laugh. The one who lifts me when I'm low. The one who sees me and somehow makes me want to see myself more clearly. The one who makes the world feel a little lighter just by being in it. And maybe that's why I've never found a single word that feels big enough for you. Because you're not simply someone I enjoy spending time with. You're woven into my days. Into my thoughts. Into the pieces of myself I am still learning to understand. You are the person who makes me feel more like myself simply by being you. And maybe that's what an other half really is— not someone who completes you, but someone who helps you remember that you were whole all along. You are my muse. My mirror. My kindred soul. My soulmate. My other half. My I am.
I am with you I am the beam of sunlight that kisses your cheek at the dawn. I am the breath you softly draw with your waking yawn. I am the warm cover that keeps the morning chill at bay, like the arms of a faithful lover before you greet the day. I am the wind that gently brushes your cheek. I am the quiet strength you find whenever you feel weak. I am the water as you shower that glides across your skin. I am the humble meal that gives new life to you within. I am the song that lingers in your mind, the melody that follows you when silence is unkind. I am the shade beneath the summer tree, where for a little while the world lets you simply be. I am the rain that dances on your pane, reminding you that every storm will one day pass again. I am the laughter hidden in your smile, the hope that walks beside your heart through every weary mile. I am the evening sky painted gold and blue, whispering through fading light that I am still with you. I am the stars that keep their faithful gleam. I am the gentle hand that leads your footsteps into dream. And when at last you close your weary eyes, I am the love that finds your soul where waking cannot rise.
I know, more poetry. I can't help writing it. MY heart is feeling it right now # I Want to End the Day with You I want to end my day with you, See the little things you do; Watch you wander through the house While I tend to mine there too. I want to end my day with you, Be beside you as daylight fades; Curl upon the couch together After candles, drawn-down shades. I want to end my day with you, Share a meal and share a smile; Treasure all the quiet moments That make living so worthwhile. I want to end my day with you, See you dress for bed at night; Feel you slip beneath the covers, Kiss your forehead, soft and light. I want to end my day with you, Reading from our favorite book; Then I'd yawn and catch your eye, And you'd answer with that look. I want to end my day with you, Feel you softly spoon with me, Drawing ever close beside me As we drift to peaceful sleep. I want to end my day with you, Dreaming dreams both bright and true— Walking hand in hand together... Every day begins with you.
# Our Quiet Joys Our love of music, shared in kind, Our joy in every cherished book; The foolish jests that cross our minds, Would earn the world a curious look. I know I'm falling more each day— It shines through all I think and do; My thoughts forever drift your way, My heart keeps singing back to you. I spend my weekends wrapped in dreams Of when we'll speak once more again; Until that welcome moment gleams, I count the hours with quiet grin. I long to dwell where you abide, Though miles between our footsteps lie; For even when we're side by side In thought, no distance can deny. To share with you both mind and heart, Each hope, each laughter, every view— No measure now can keep apart The better self I find through you.
# Because You Are You make me hunger to become The man I always dreamed could be; Not through command nor solemn vow, But by the quiet grace of thee. A single whisper of your name Awakens embers thought long cold; My spirit gathers into flame, Its timid ashes turned to gold. You do not ask that I should change— You simply are, and that is all; Yet mountains answer to the dawn, And sleeping forests hear its call. The simple truth you breathe this earth Makes life itself seem newly fair; For if such kindness walks the world, Then beauty surely lingers there. So gladly shall I bear the climb, Though every step demands its due; For each small victory I earn Leads both my soul—and me—to you.
